Gender Diversity Exhibition was organized in 2012 and 2014 as an exhibition zone of the Xi’an Sex and Reproductive Health Products Expo (short for Xi’an Sex Expo). Xi’an Sex Expo was organized by a corporation with support from the family planning bureau of the city of Xi’an and the province of Shaanxi.

 

In 2012, Xi’an Relax Lala Association was invited by Qujiang International Conference & Exhibition Center to organize an LGBT exhibition zone in the Xi’an Sex Expo in order to attract more visitors. Relax is a well-known lala organization founded in Xi’an in 2009. It aims to build a platform for communication between LBT people in Xi’an and its surrounding areas in order to disseminate knowledge, provide support services and educate the public about issues related to sexuality and gender.

 

The “Gender Diversity Exhibition” organized by Relax in 2012 was very successful. It was the first LGBT exhibition in a public event that is supported by the government. Relax was invited back to organize another “Gender Diversity Exhibition” in 2014. The exhibition zone in 2014 was even bigger than the one in 2012.

 

These two exhibitions on LGBT issues in the public space were unprecedented in China and attracted a lot of media attention.

 

 

 

西安多元性別展區是2012年和2014年西安性與生殖健康博覽會（簡稱西安性博會）中的重要展覽。西安性博得到陝西省及西安市計生部門支持，由企業主辦。

 

2012年，西安Relax同學社受曲江會展中心邀請在西安性博會舉辦一個LGBT展區，來吸引更多觀眾前往性博會。Relax成立於2009年，是西安有名的拉拉小組。Relax旨在為西安及周邊地區LBT人群搭建交流平台，進行知識普及並提供專業的支援服務，同時對公眾進行性/別教育。

 

2012年Relax同學社的多元性別展區取得巨大成功，同時也成為第一個在政府部門公開活動中舉辦的LGBT展覽。2014年Relax同學社再次受邀在西安性博會舉辦一個多元性別展區，而此次展區比2012年的規模更大。

 

兩年的多元性別展都獲得媒體的廣泛關注。
